Greetings to all family members and our caring community:
I am reaching out to update you on where we are with the COVID-19 lockdown.
First, the good news. I am happy to report we have had no cases of COVID-19 at Shirkey Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Oak Ridge Assisted Living & Memory Care, Shirkey Hospice or Shirkey Premier Therapy.
As you probably know, we will remain under lockdown until Phase III of the Show Me Strong Recovery Plan.
Thank you to all the families who have been so understanding about these difficult mandates that have you separated from your loved ones. We’ve only had a few people who let the situation get the best of them and reacted in a poor manner.
As I stated earlier, we will open our doors to you once we enter Phase III, but please understand that social distancing will continue to be encouraged for the safety of our residents.
To keep you and your loved ones connected, Shirkey Health Services has purchased computer tablets, so that you may FaceTime or Skype, to see and talk to them.
If you have driven by our facilities, you’ll see “Heroes Work Here” banners. I truly believe that, and offer a big THANK YOU to all the Shirkey Health Services nurses and support staff, who care for your family members each day – some at the risk of bringing the virus home to their families and friends. An appreciative word from you all will keep them going strong. Without their steadfast dedication, this difficult situation would become dire.
Seeing television reports of other facilities with COVID-19 cases may have you wondering – if it happened here, how would you know? If that situation were to occur, we would personally contact you with that information.
I will continue to post updates on our website, shirkeyhealthservices.com, periodically to keep everyone informed with up-to-date information.
As always, please feel free to call, if you have questions.
